compromise is simply setting your standard below the word of God but inline with the worldly standard. It is agreeing to secure momentary gain and later face shame and reproach.
Christianity is not a religion; mistaking it for religion retards your progress in life. Christianity is life (living the life of Jesus Christ) importation of heaven on earth. A true christian is one who had discovered is true purpose of living.
And be not confirmed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable. And perfect will of God.

You don’t have to stoop the world’s pattern but you must bring the world to the pattern which God has given you. Many are yielding to the worlds standard instead of talking the world to heaven standard.
Conpromise is a deadly sin. There is no civilization in the world that can make the word of no effect.
Overcoming them
For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.

The devil is the tempter, his method is subtle and his weapon is deception; he uses lies and accusation.

- So that he can have a perfect inroad to still and destroy you.

He uses people. Media: television, books, internet, phones, etc.
The secret to eliminating flies from your environment is to eliminate the garbage that bring the flies.
Eliminate evil thoughts, pride pornographic movies etc. Recognized your area of vulnerability and deal with it.
How to handle tempations
Use the word of God:
You must know what is written in God’s word; the word of God is our sourse of energy.
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; to bear, but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1cor10:13
